One World Neighborhood Café

Employment Services

International food. Immigrants, refugees and ex-offenders working hand-in-hand to create a better life for themselves and their families. This is One World Neighborhood Cafe.

In 2007, the Center for Women in Transition, in partnership with the Immigrant and Refugee Women's Program and the Refugee Ministry of Provident, founded One World Neighborhood Cafe as one solution to a growing problem in the St. Louis area. Thousands of ex-offenders are released from prison each year and are unable to find work because of their criminal records. Thousands of immigrants and refugees settle in St. Louis and are unable to find work because of poor English skills and lack of employment history. One World offers these marginalized populations an opportunity to earn a living wage and full benefits while learning important job skills which will aid them in finding future employment.
